Domaren Geoff Roden presenterar sig inför Specialen
My interest in Parson Russell Terriers began when i met my future wife Andrea. She had a love of Jack Russell’s, having owned dogs of Parson type since childhood and she passed that interest onto me.
We got our first Kennel Club registered Parson from Ruth Wilford of the Clystlands Kennel, and from here developed an interest in showing at Kennel Club shows.
Later, we acquired our second Parson Russell and foundation bitch from George Simpson of the Howlbeck Kennel.
We attained our affix ’Quarrymist’ in 1994/1995, and from our first litter came Quarrymist Mr Fudge (Clystlands Reveller x Howlbeck Princible Dancer of Quarrymist) a tricolour male who was one of the first Parson Russells to be awarded a Challenge Certificate in the first year that CC’s were allocated to the breed.
During our time showing I served on the PRT Club committee on two separate occasions and
enjoyed stewarding at many club shows. I was also joint national co-ordinator for the breed welfare alongside Andrea for 3 years.

Although no longer showing or breeding I have maintained a keen interest in the development of the breed and enjoy judging when the opportunity arises..
I am honoured to be offered the opportunity to judge at this prestigious show and look forward to seeing you all and your dog’s.
All the best, Geoff
